AUTISM AND PARKINSON COMMUNITY
Strengthening our community with love, compassion, and inclusion to help children, adolescents and adults navigate the day-to-day difficulties associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Parkinson’s Disease through exercise and sport.
We design and personalized exercise that provides benefits beyond the physical fitness. Exercise is a key block to building a foundation to improve focus, decreasing stress and anxiety and enhancing social skills and language development.

Why Is Exercise for Autism Important?
Exercise is an evidence-based practice and rated by parents as the number one autism treatment. 1 in 44 individuals are diagnosed with autism, and their family members will leave no stone unturned to help them. Unfortunately, a multitude of therapies exists that cannot yet be backed by science. Exercise has been proven to work in a big way.
Exercise for those with autism doesn’t just increase fitness levels. It is an important part of learning and playing. Research shows that it is a gateway to increasing focus, reducing maladaptive behaviors, and improving social skills and language development.
“Our National Survey of Autism Treatment Effectiveness, based on over 700 autism families, found that exercise was the number 1 rated treatment overall, with a rating of 4.2/5, substantially higher than the 2nd highest rated treatment with a 3.8/5”

Physical activity also slows the disease process, decreases the pain associated with Parkinson`s disease, prolongs the independent mobility (gait, balance, strength) and improves sleep, mood, memory hence improving the overall quality of life.
There are study shows that exercise has the potential to help both motor (gait, balance, strength) and nonmotor (depression, apathy, fatigue, constipation) aspects of Parkinson’s disease as well as secondary complications of immobility (cardiovascular, osteoporosis).
Exercise produces many benefits including increased physical functioning motor performance, strength, endurance, improved gait and balance, cardiovascular fitness, and overall better quality of life It is great strides to make exercise a part of the standard treatment of PD such as biking, running, Tai Chi, yoga, Pilates, dance, weight training, boxing and more are included —all have positive effects on PD symptoms.
